How to Protect Your Chase Cashback

If, like me, you pay your credit card bill from your Chase savings account, there’s always the danger of dipping below the £1,000 minimum balance. Sure, you can keep a mental note of it, or leave a little extra cash sitting around just in case. But why risk it?

A simpler move is to open a second savings account and move £1,000 into it. Treat it as your cashback buffer — what I call my “cashback protector”.

Chase – cashback protector account

The name sounds a little dramatic, but it works. That’s all it is: £1,000 with a single job. No checking balances before a larger purchase. No worrying about whether this month’s spending will push you below the Chase minimum. It’s just sitting there, untouched, making sure you qualify for next month’s cashback offer.
