Squid is one of those apps that life just decided belongs on your phone.
The math is pretty simple: increasingly more and more coffee shops use it. Instead of having multiple apps just to collect stamps, Squid is the one place for all of those. This sort of setup only works if everyone goes with Squid, and it certainly feels like it.
So the big boys like Costa and Cafe Nero have their own apps. Squid fills in the gap for all the smaller players.
How to use squid
Simply scan after you purchase a drink and Squid will do the rest.
Each coffee shop will come up in Wallet and show you how many stamps you collected and how many left till you get your free drink. So if you regularly visit 4-5 coffee shops, you can quickly see which one is closest to a free drink.
What else? There’s a Discover tab for you to find lunch spots and coffee shops that use Squid. A bit like the Amex map.
Conclusion
So, is there any reason not to get it? No. Squid is completely free, super lightweight, and it’s your free coffee ticket.
It’s one little app that potentially replaces 5-10 apps on your phone, or physical loyalty cards you’re likely to lose.
